While your dreams may be vivid, the way to achieve them can be a bit hazy. Through unwaveringly diligent faith, persistent work, and an unforgettable personal pizzazz, Ej King has primed his way into the industry he so desired and is continuing to flourish.
Born the second amongst 6 boys, Ej was always a determined child. He was set on making his way in Hollywood. With a slew of talents in tow, he started his career by doing extra work in movies (Dreamgirls), styling hair, make-up, and wardrobe on music videos and photo shoots. He gradually transitioned to styling print ads for magazines (eg. King Magazine), and consulting with artists like Kelly Rowland, T-Pain, Nelly, Ashanti, Courtney Love, Day 26, Melanie Fiona, and Keyshia Cole. Most recently, he has been the stylist of Chris Brown.
EJ is taking it to tht next level with two exciting new opportunities: EJ King will be debuting his first clothing line (the first ever stylist collaboration) with Cross Colours, and he will be on BET’s new show “About the Business” coming Wednesdays at 10pm.
The sky is the limit for the self-proclaimed “King of Style”, with endless options for future endeavors. With interests shown in creative directing, opening a style house, clothing lines, branding, and developing future stylists, you might be surprised where you see “The King” next!

God knows it hasn't been an easy ride, but damn is it ever worth it. Let my story serve as proof that as long as you keep knocking, they eventually have to let you in. Words can't express how much I love and appreciate this woman. I met her in Miami on my 21st Birthday. We hit it off instantly. A month later, she asked me to be her assistant and I excitedly accepted. She’s been a constant source of support and Inspiration, ever since.

Met the guys on set of a video for another client. Shortly after, I received a call from their management asking me to work with the boys. My first task -- Dress 6 guys for 9 videos, with 3 wardrobe changes each -- all on an invisible budget lol. Needless to say, I learned how to persevere.

I met the girls (separately) shortly after they signed to NappyBoy Records, T.Pain's label. Soon after, I was called to do a photoshoot in Atlanta for their album. It was my first time ever being “flown out” for work. I was given a generous budget and the shoot was a huge success. So much that I ended up moving to Atlanta to work with the girls for the next 2 1/2 years.

Through working as a Jr. Publicist, I was able to meet Ms. Seannita Palmer, Fashion Editor for King Magazine. In time, I became her assistant and she became my most treasured mentor. Seannta has taught me so much & has opened many doors for me. There aren’t words sufficient to convey my gratitude for her ongoing presence in my life.

I met this amazing woman on the set of a photoshoot I was working. One of the models was having a hard time with the poses, so she started to get worked up. I intervened, walked her through it, & saved the day for everyone. Ms. Hattix took notice and offered me a position with her company. I started as her assistant but was soon promoted to Jr. Publicist.

I always knew I was meant to do “something more”. So at 17, I signed up with LA Castings. Shortly after, I was called back to work as an extra on the set of ‘Dreamgirls’. I was featured in several scenes and even got to meet Jennifer Hudson! 13 years later, we met again & she remembered me. She was proud of how far I had come. Full circle.

As a young teen, I would often lay and daydream about the life I knew I would someday live. I would plan it all out in my head. I’m a firm believer in that you have to see it, before you can be it. My daydreams were so vivid and real. The life I’m living now is merely a manifestation of my daydreams from yesteryear.

Growing up, I was super close with my mom. She’s always been my rock; always encouraging me to be who I was meant to. I loved playing dress-up with Mom. I soon dressed all my friends. I even dressed my prom date. I saw them all as living dolls and Ioved making them feel beautiful. My grandmother would say God was preparing me for the life he had for me. Grams was right.

I was born in the OC, but moved to Las Vegas when I was 5. I spent many years going back & forth between the two cities. I found my love for fashion & things of beauty at an early age. Growing up in two of the most stylistic places in the world undoubtedly had a profound affect on who I would eventually become.
